Repurposed Vintage Curtain Braid Necklace

I found a bunch of wonderful old curtain braid on my travels.  It's possible that they were samples.  Some ends were fraying and some had the remains of a wax seal  which had originally been applied to prevent  fraying.  I thought they would make a marvellous statement necklace.

I have bound the ends with colourful thread and then added metal caps.  The two pieces are worn together to create a really dramatic piece of wearable art.
