Vintage Japanese Wood Kokeshi Doll On Black Banded Agate Necklace

Turning Japanese I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so.

A striking necklace of banded agates, red coral and white seed beads. The centerpiece is a vintage Japanese folk-art Kokeshi doll. The doll has a limbless body, a simple painted face and a miniature painting of houses with a Japanese woman in traditional dress in the foreground. There is also some faint Japanese writing.

The piece is finished with a metal toggle clasp.
